McAllen native named into Forbes 30 Under 30 List

Forbes just named a McAllen native into to their list of 30 Under 30 entrepreneurs in education.


Forbes just named Matthew Ramirez, the cofounder of WriteLab a program that uses artificial intelligence to teach students how to write into their 30 under 30 list.
WriteLab analyzes writers' drafts and offers observations, questions, and suggestions about sentence-level writing features. The program does not tell writers what they should do. Instead, users learn by exercising authority over their prose, by making decisions about what they want to say and how they want to say it.
According to Forbes, "WriteLab now has $2.5 million in funding and has already been deployed in 53 schools, ranging from low-income high schools to Ivy League colleges."
For its fifth annual 30 under 30, featuring 600 young entrepreneurs demonstrating impressive entrepreneurship, Forbes looked at over 15,000 contenders across 20 different sectors, including consumer tech, music, and even Hollywood and entertainment.
“In the past, youth was a handicap to professional success. Getting older meant more resources, more knowledge, more money. No more,” said Forbes editor Caroline Howard. “Those who grew up in the tech age have way bigger ambitions — perfectly suited to the dynamic, entrepreneurial and impatient digital world they grew up in.”
